danny2014uk I was having that same problem and now my USB 3.0 ports are restored thanks to you. You are a lifesaver!
As for everyone else as danny2014uk suggested:
1) Go to Device Manager to Universal Serial Bus controllers
2) Rick click the USB Root Hub (USB 3.0) and then uninstall it
3) Then go to Action setting on above toolbars and hit scan for hardware changes
4) The USB Root Hub (USB 3.0) will reappear again without the exclamation point.
5) The moment it reappear QUICKLY go to its properties right to Power Management
6) Quickly click on Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power
7) As soon as you did all that RESTART THE COMPUTER
It will work well. Please be advise this must be done quickly before the error appears again. Good luck to all!

Hey everyone,
Been having an issue in the past few weeks, where my USB 3.0 stopped working. It was working for the first few months under Windows 10, but after an update, it stopped.
I can still use USB 2.0 fine, but anytime I plug in something 3.0, it doesn't get recognized. In device manager, i get 2 different errors
Unknown USB Device: Device Descriptor Request Failed Unknown USB Device: Set Address Failed
I've tried updating drivers, reinstalling, uninstalling, etc. To no avail.
